About The Chelsea St Pete

The Chelsea St Pete offers a welcoming space to enjoy some of our freshly brewed drinks and locally baked goods. We opened our doors during the pandemic with the goal of providing a welcoming place for people, hoping to help combat some of the loneliness we all faced during that time.
“The Chelsea” was inspired by The Hotel Chelsea, which was a famous meeting spot for creatives in Manhattan for much of the 20th century. We think ‘our’ Chelsea is the perfect spot to visit with friends and to make new ones. Come by to work or study in a quiet and intimate environment. Or stop by to shop our international and locally-made artisan goods. Be a part of one of our public events or let us help you host your own event in our beautiful patio garden space. Whatever you need, we’re here for you. And don’t worry, you don’t have to leave your best friend at home because we’re also dog (and bike) friendly!

About the Owner

The Chelsea St Pete is owned and operated by St. Petersburg OG Teresa Vidal Chalkley. Teresa created, co-owned and managed two popular boutiques in St. Petersburg over the years.
  • Bossa Nova: gift and jewelry store in downtown St. Petersburg from 2001-2006 with the "Best Baubles" around.
  • if and only if: clothing, jewelry, and gift store, located on 4th St N from 1993-2009, earning a loyal following and numerous "Best of" awards over the years.
Before the shops, Teresa lived in Chelsea, NYC, (thus the name "The Chelsea"), earning degrees at the Fashion Institute of Technology and N.Y.U. The Chelsea St Pete is particularly inspired by The Chelsea Hotel which was the meeting spot for creatives in Manhattan for much of the 20th century.
Teresa's husband and partner hails from England, bringing the flavor of what he calls the 'original' Chelsea in London.
